A wave of anger has swept across Punjab after a suspected grenade attack on the house of senior BJP leader and former minister Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar last night. In protest of this serious incident, BJP workers today held a demonstration under the leadership of District President  Ajayvir Singh Lalpura. During the protest, an effigy of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was burnt, and slogans were raised against the Punjab government.

The protest, led by Ropar District BJP President  Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, saw participation from hundreds of BJP workers and local leaders. Lalpura emphatically stated, “When even former ministers and senior national leaders are not safe, how can the security of a common man be imagined?” He made serious accusations against CM Bhagwant Mann, calling him the most unsuccessful Chief Minister of Punjab and alleging that law and order in the state has completely collapsed under his rule.

Lalpura termed the attack as “a hard slap on the face of Punjab’s security apparatus” and said grenade attacks have now become a common occurrence in the state, as if it were an everyday event. “There is a naked dance of terror on the streets of Punjab and the Bhagwant Mann government is just watching the spectacle,” he said sharply.

He questioned how any business could survive in such a dangerous environment. Traders, industrialists, and common citizens are all living in fear. He accused the Punjab government of reducing the police and district administration to mere puppets in the hands of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. “Police are being forced to work under political pressure, leaving no hope for justice,” he added.

Ajayvir Singh Lalpura also recalled the murder of late singer Sidhu Moosewala, stating, “Punjab has lost countless talented sons like Moosewala, but the government’s sensitivity and accountability have hit rock bottom.”

He emphasized that not just Jalandhar, but even relatively peaceful districts like Ropar are now facing serious law and order issues. “The murder of Vikas Prabhakar in Nangal had shaken the entire district. Even today, people there live in fear. Until the government takes responsibility, no one in Punjab can feel safe,” he asserted.

Towards the end of the protest, BJP workers raised powerful slogans against the Punjab government such as “Bhagwant Mann resign!”, “Down with the government!”, “Save Punjab, Bring BJP!”. They warned that if the Punjab government fails to take strict action immediately and restore law and order, BJP will launch a statewide public movement.

On this occasion, Lalpura also appealed to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to take note of the worsening law and order situation in Punjab and urged that special central investigation agencies be brought in to thoroughly investigate such terror attacks and punish the culprits severely.

The BJP sent a clear message to the public that Punjab, once considered among the most peaceful and prosperous states of India, is now heading toward fear, disorder, and anarchy.

Present at the protest were Ropar Mandal President Jagdish Chander Kajla, Raman Jindal, Kamaldev Sharma, Ramit Keher, Amanpreet Singh Kabbarwal, Lajpat Rai, Dharminder Singh Bhinda, Roshan Lal Tedewal, Naveen Kumar from Nurpurbedi, Gurimat Singh, Sanjay Pratap Jain, Tony Verma, Saurabh Bansal, Captain Multan Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Raj Kumar Rana, Rakesh Sehgal, Sohan Singh Kabbarwal, Rameshwar Sharma, Himmat Singh Giran, Vinod Bhandari, Prince Kaushik, Samrat, Monu Verma, Raj Kumar Chauhan, Neeraj Kumar, Satpal Singh, Roshan Lal, Ravinder Singh, Abhishek Agnihotri, Kehar Singh, Chaman Lal Verma, Usha Rani, Advocate Ansari, Amarjeet Singh, and a large number of BJP leaders and workers.
