Haryana native IPS officer to head SIT in Col. Bath’s assault case

Haryana native Manjeet Sheoran, IPS officer of AGMUT cadre of Chandigarh Police, will probe the alleged assault case of Colonel (Col) Pushpinder Singh Bath.

DGP (Chandigarh Police) Raj Kumar Singh has formed a four member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by 2015-batch AGMUT cadre SP ranked officer Manjeet Sheoran of Chandigarh Police along with a DSP, a inspector and a Sub Inspector ranked officer.

The SIT was formed following the order of Punjab and Haryana High Court, which directed the Chandigarh Police to investigate the case of Col Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case and complete the probe within four months.

Sheoran, is currently posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Chandigarh, holding responsibilities for Headquarters, Intelligence, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Communication, and as Assistant Commandant General/Home Guards.

The alleged assault occurred on the intervening night of March 13 and 14, 2024 at a Dhaba outside Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala where the colonel and his son were having Maggie (meal).
