The beginning of 2025 has brought good name-bad name for Patiala police. In the last 2-3 months Patiala police’s multi facets have come to fore.
When we talk about ‘attentiveness’, Patiala police has solved cases within few hours of its happening and booked the culprits. A murder case is solved in 6 hours.
When we talk about ‘responsive’, Patiala police lodged FIR against close aide of Union Railway State Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu’s close aide Rajesh Attri. A complaint was lodged against Rajesh Attri late night. Patiala police showing his responsive behavior immediately lodges an FIR and picked up Attri from his residence in the morning. Patiala police’s so much responsive behavior, working was condemned by residents of Patiala.
When we talk about ‘caring’, Patiala police’s soft heartedness towards its dozen officials in the infamous Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath’s assault case tops the chart. Due to caring behavior towards its officials, the local police didn’t care to lodge FIR against its own personnel’s for around 7-8 days. This caring behavior of Patiala Police forces Col. Bath family to sit on dharna in demand to book 12 accused police officials.
The latest ‘going slow, dragging’ behavior added in Patiala police’s list on April 15,2025 when its own official assistant sub inspector (ASI) Rakesh Kumar along with his family members staged a sit-in outside a sabzi mandi (division number 2) police station in Patiala, alleging inaction in connection with a recent assault on his brother Suresh Kumar by distant relatives over a monetary dispute on March 13. ASI Rakesh Kumar said “those who have been involved in the crime have not been arrested. Cops have been showing a lackadaisical attitude in arresting the accused named in the FIR.”
