Purnam Shaw is back from Pakistan after 21 days; Pak authorities hands over Shaw to India at Attari Border

Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Purnam Shaw, 40, is handed over to India at around 10:30 am by Pakistan at the Joint Check post at Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar.
Shaw, who was apprehended by Pakistan Rangers on April 23 at 1150 hours this year after inadvertently crosses the International Border during patrolling duties along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Ferozepur district.
“Today BSF Jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in the custody of Pakistan Rangers since 23 April 2025, was handed over to India at about 1030 hours through the Joint Check Post Attari, Amritsar. The handover was conducted peacefully and in accordance with established protocols,” a statement released by the BSF said.
BSF spokesperson added ” with the consistent efforts of BSF through regular flag meetings with Pakistan Rangers and through other communication channels, the repatriation of BSF Constable has become successful.”
