Rupnagar Police claimed to have arrested 5 persons who looted gold from the house with 11 hours of one crime and recovered the gold from them.

Giving information in this regard, Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that on May 23 at 11.15 am, an incident came to light in which 03 unknown persons threatened Pragati Jain w/o Akshay Jain, resident of Ranjit Avenue Rupnagar, with a sharp weapon and snatched away 04 gold bangles weighing 40 grams from her.

Gulneet Singh Khurana said that acting swiftly on the information of incident, the police registered a case No. 116 dated 23.05.2025 under Sections 332 (C), 309(4), 3(5) BNS against unknown persons at Police Station City Rupnagar. Separate teams of District Police and CIA were formed to trace this robbery incident.

He said that during the investigation of the case, under the supervision of DSP Rajpal Singh Gill, the team of Police Station City Rupnagar and CIA led by SHO Pawan Kumar, Police Station City Rupnagar, after examining the footage of CCTV cameras and establishing intelligence sources, arrested the persons Navjot Singh, resident of village Phool Kalan, Police Station Sadar Rupnagar, Sukhwinder Singh alias Deepu, resident of village Asron, Police Station Kathgarh, District SBS Nagar, Akashdeep Singh alias Pintu, resident of Phool Kalan, Police Station Sadar Rupnagar, District Rupnagar.

SSP said that after thorough interrogation, these persons revealed that Ravi Kumar, resident of Rail Majra and Tony are our friends, who told us that we have to snatch the gold bangles of lady who is acquaintance of ours. On which Ravi Kumar lured us with one lakh rupees to do this work. And they carried out the incident.

Rupnagar Police arrest 5 persons, recover gold looted from a house ,within 11 hoursHe said that on the basis of the facts, Ravi Kumar, Tony resident of Rail Majra and Shilpa Jain wife of Rakesh Jain resident of Jain Mahalla Rupnagar were nominated in the case and the accused Ravi Kumar resident of Rail Majra and Shilpa Jain wife of Rakesh Jain resident of Jain Mahalla Rupnagar were arrested as per the Criminal Procedure Code.

Rupnagar Police arrest 5 persons, recover gold looted from a house ,within 11 hours .SSP said that a raid is being conducted to arrest the accused Tony resident of Rail Majra, whose arrest is pending.

SSP Rupnagar said that 04 gold bangles have recovered and 02 motorcycles used for the incident have also been recovered. The persons are being produced in court today to get police remand, from whom more incidents of theft and robbery are likely to be revealed.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar further said that the campaign against bad elements in Rupnagar district will continue, strict action will be taken against anyone who violates the law and Rupnagar Police is committed to protecting the lives and property of the people.
