Rotary Club Rupnagar dedicates its Sunday to Service for Humanity & Society

Members of the Rotary club Roopnagar organized three projects on Sunday. Day started with first tree plantation drive of this rotary year at village Patiala in association with village panchayat & its residents.
Project was inaugurated by Past Rotary District Governor Dr R S Parmar & Chetan Aggarwal. 220 Plants of the different varieties like Jamun, Mango, Anwla & Moringa were planted. Speaking on the occasion Club President Sudhir Sharma & Secretary Dr Ankur Wahi told that club has taken a target to plant 1000 plants in this rotary year & these plantation drives will be organized in Ropar city & adjacent villages. Chairman of this project Rotarian Jaswinderjit Singh told that club will plant maximum fruit plants so that birds can take their diet from these plants & also make their shelters on it.
Addressing the gathering Dr R S Parmar appreciated the efforts of club leadership. He advised the club members to select the sites for plantation where someone can own the plants & timely water them so that survival rate of the plants can be more. Village Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Panch Manjit kaur, Jarnail Singh, Jasminder Singh, Harwinder Singh & Teja Singh assured their best support for these plants so that it can be saved. From Rotary club side Past presidents Amar Raj Saini, Dr BPS Parmar, Er. Parminder Kumar & Rotarians Dr Daljit Singh Saini, JPS Rehal along with AG of Zone 7 Rotarian Gurpreet Singh were present.
Second project was a blood donation camp, organized at Saini Bhawan in association with Kaka Ram Saini Charitable Trust. Team of doctors from Rotary Blood bank Chandigarh collected 74 units of blood. Members of the Saini Bhawan appreciated the efforts of club. Apart from club leadership, Rotarian Ashok Chadha were present.
Third project was a mega medical health checkup camp organized in association with Punjab Kesri group at village Golumajra at Dera of Bohri Sahib. More than 400 patients examined at this camp & freemedicines were also distributed. From Rotary Club side team of doctors including Dr BPS Parmar, Dr Namrita Parmar, Dr H N Sharma, Dr Rajeev Aggarwal, Dr Aarti Verma & Past Presidents DS Deol & Dr Jk Sharma were present.
