Home secretary gets extension

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension in services of Govind Mohan, lAS (SK:89) as Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs beyond the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.09.2025 upto 22.08.2026
Senior IAS officer Govind Mohan had taken charge as Union Home secretary on August 23, 2024 following the retirement of incumbent Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
Govind Mohan did his schooling at Saint Joseph Dehradun and Indian School Certificate, St Francis’ College, Lucknow (March 1982). Later did his Bachelor of Technology, Institute of Technology, Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi (July 1982–March 1986): Govind Mohan Specialised in the general discipline of Electrical Engineering, with electives in the area of Computer Software and Engineering. He also attended interdisciplinary programs, with emphasis on courses in the fields of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics, Macroeconomics and Finance
Mohan’s track record is considered exemplary. He is also regarded as an officer who works without any limelight. without any limelight.
