Dr. Amitoj Singh Appointed as Associate Dean (Academic Affairs), JNDU Punjab State Open University

Dr. Amitoj Singh, faculty in Computer Science of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGNDU-PSOU), has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Associate Dean (Academic Affairs). He will continue to serve in his existing role as Director (IT) of the University.

Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and an MCA with distinction from Punjabi University, Patiala. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and research, he has made significant contributions to the academic and technological advancement of the institution.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Singh has authored more than 100 research publications. He has successfully led research projects funded by ICSSR, SCERT Punjab, and IEEE USA, and is widely recognized for his pioneering work in Assistive Technologies for differently-abled persons. His notable innovation, the e-Braille Slate, has earned international acclaim, including recognition from the United Nations, IIT Bombay, and the University of Nottingham, China.

Currently, Dr. Singh is one of the Principal Investigators of a Rs. 2 crore multi-institutional research project in collaboration with IIT Gandhinagar, IIIT Surat, and IIIT Vadodara, funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh and Registrar Dr. Baljit Singh Mehra congratulated Dr. Singh and extended their best wishes for his continued success in this expanded academic and administrative role.
