Nangal Councillor seeks Punjab CM’s intervention for the approval to charge entry tax from Himachal vehicle owners

Nangal Congress Municipal Councillor Paramjit Singh Pamma has sought the intervention of Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann for the approval of the resolution passed by Municipal council Nangal on June 9 last proposing to levy reciprocal entry toll tax from vehicle owners of neighbouring Himachal Pradesh entering Punjab from Nangal side.
In a letter written to the chief minister Pamma has stated that the resolution is pending at the office of director local governments Punjab, which had failed to give approval to the same.
He urged the chief minister to issue directions to the local government department director to give approval to the resolution and implement the same at the earliest.
Pamma also urged the chief minister to impose reciprocal entry tax on the vehicles entering Punjab at various districts including Rupnagar,Pathankot,Hoshiarpur,Mohali from Himachal Pradesh on the pattern of that state,which would not only add to the income of Punjab but would also provide relief to the people visiting Himachal Pradesh.
He has also written a separate letter to the director local governments Punjab seeking approval of the resolution of the Municipal Council Nangal.
