Dr. Ritu Lehal joins as Dean Research and Dr Minni Singh as Associate Dean Research Punjabi University Patiala

Dr. Ritu Lehal, Professor at the University School of Applied Management, has taken charge as the Dean Research of Punjabi University, Patiala. With over 34 years of distinguished experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, her appointment is expected to significantly strengthen the university’s research ecosystem.
Dr. Lehal has earlier served in several key roles including Dean of Faculty, Head of Department, and Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies. She has successfully led numerous major and minor research projects funded by prestigious national agencies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
Speaking on her new role, Dr. Lehal expressed her commitment to enhancing the university’s research environment. “I look forward to fostering a vibrant research culture and encouraging faculty to secure more research projects and publish in high-impact journals,” she said.
Her extensive academic and administrative experience is expected to bring fresh impetus to the university’s research and innovation agenda.Joining her is Dr. Mini Singh, Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, who has been appointed as Associate Dean Research. A well-known researcher with a strong reputation in her field, Dr. Singh brings valuable experience through her multiple industry collaborations. Her appointment is expected to further advance the university’s emphasis on applied research and innovation. With these strategic appointments, Punjabi University is poised to scale new heights in research excellence and industry engagement.
