Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, in a strongly worded press release today, lashed out at Rupnagar MLA and Shri Anandpur Sahib’s MP Malvinder Singh Kang for misleading the public over railway overbridge, underbridge, and station upgradation projects. Lalpura criticized a letter recently shared by the MLA on social media, claiming that MP  had taken up these issues. “The claims are completely misleading and intended to confuse the people. The fact is, the BJP has been consistently pursuing these projects for the past two years,” Lalpura stated.

Ajayvir Singh Lalpura openly questioned the MP’s performance, labeling him a “Missing MP” and demanding answers.

“The public wants to know: what exactly has the MP done for the region so far? How much funding has he secured? Which developmental projects has he brought? After four years, there’s no concrete achievement to show.”

Turning his attention to Rupnagar’s MLA, Lalpura challenged him to disclose the amount of development funds released by the Punjab government for the Ropar constituency and the specific projects executed under his tenure.

“If you have the courage, present the figures on an open platform. Development doesn’t happen through photo ops and hollow statements,” he remarked.

Highlighting BJP’s relentless efforts, Lalpura revealed that on December 2, 2023, senior railway engineer D.K. Garg and his team inspected several sites, including Ghanauli, Miapur, Jindwari, Bhanupali, and Rangilpur. During the visit, technical surveys were conducted based on public demands, which included:

Construction of an underpass and overbridge at Rangilpur Upgradation/ Installation of a computerized reservation system at Ghanauli station Solutions to rainwater logging at Jindwari underbridge. Lalpura further disclosed that in March 2025, he personally met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss these projects. He raised key demands, including upgradation of Ghanauli station, addition of reserved coaches to the Haridwar-Himachal Express, and improved facilities at local stations.

“It’s because of BJP’s persistent follow-ups that the railway department has prepared its report. Neither the MLA nor the MP has contributed to these developments,” Lalpura emphasized.

Lalpura also took a sharp dig at the MLA’s presence during the railway inspections under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme:

“You were there for the photos, but where is your government’s funding? Development needs commitment, not just camera flashes and statements,” he said.

Ajayvir Singh Lalpura urged the people not to fall for “false claims and misleading propaganda.” He reiterated that the BJP has always prioritized the development of the region and will continue to raise public issues at every level.
