Rotary club Rupnagar sets up two new Interactive clubs at Khalsa School

In a bid to foster leadership and community service among youth, the Rotary Club of Rupnagar  recently inaugurated Two Interact Clubs One at Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Rupnagar and Second at Khalsa Model School, Rupnagar Chief Guest of the function was Past District Governor Dr R.S. Parmar Along with Guest of honor Assistant Governor Advocate Gurpreet Singh.

Dr Parmar shared that the Interact Clubs aim to engage students from 12 to 18 years of age in social service, skill development, and Rotary-led initiatives, aligning with the motto -Service Above Self.

Under Community Service various Food drives, homeless shelter support, blood donation camps, Literacy projects and Clean environment projects can be taken by interacts clubs. Director Youth Services PP Rtn Prabhjit Singh conducted the ceremony and informed that as per rotary international sources Total 17111 Interacts Clubs with 395000 members are actively working in the world. The first interact club was formed at Melbourne High School Florida USA.

The new team was introduced and pinned by the dignitaries. He said that said that Interact Clubs shape future leaders and they are thrilled to partner with Khalsa School Ropar. Amanjot Singh of 11th was elected President, Anmolpreet Singh as Vice President and Harleen Kaur as first secretary of the new Interact club at Khalsa Sen Sec School Ropar. Aastha of 8th was elected President, Mehakpreet Kaur of 8th as Vice President and Kiranjeet Kaur of 8th as first secretary of the new Interact club at Khalda Model School Ropar.

The school principal Kulwinder Singh welcomed the initiative, calling it a platform for students to contribute meaningfully to society. Khalsa School Interact Teacher Incharge Harpreet Kaur, Navtej singh and Paramjit Singh along with Khalsa Model School Teacher Incharge Vijay Lakhsmi and Incharge Model School Gurpreet Kaur were also present and appreciate the efforts. President of the club, Sudhir Sharma while congratulating the new team, talked about Rotary Roopnagar’s continued efforts to expand Interact Clubs in educational institutions across the region.

The event was attended by Rotary Club secretary Dr Ankur wahi and teachers and students of the school.
