Punjabi University suspends two HoDs

Punjabi University has suspended two HoDs in Mahan Kosh desecration case.Dr Harinder Pal Singh, Incharge Publication Bureau, Punjabi University, Patiala and Heminder Bharti, Director, Centre for Restoration of Ecosystem of Punjab are suspended immediately.
Earlier, Patiala police has booked Punjabi University vice chancellor Jagdeep Singh, dean academic affairs Jaswinder Singh Brar, Registrar Dr Davinder Singh, Dr Harinder Pal Singh, Incharge Publication Bureau, Punjabi University, Patiala and one Unknown person under section 298 BNS.
The police have lodged an FIR against the above mentioned accused at Urban Estate Police station for ‘disrespect’ towards Mahan Kosh of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha “ under section 298 BNS (criminalizes injuring or defiling any place of worship or sacred object with the intent to insult the religion of any class, or with the knowledge that it is likely to be so regarded.”)
