BBMB to open Floodgates Today Following Rain Alert

As the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the region on October 6-7, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has decided to open the spillway gates of Pong dam on Saturday to release water in a controlled manner.
“The maximum possible releases from the turbines of Pong Dam Power House and around 32,000 cusecs through spillway gates of Pong Dam, with total including turbines @50,000 cusecs, will be made with effect from 12:00 Hrs on dated 04/10/2025” , the orders stated.
As of October 3,2025 the current water level in Pong Dam stands at 1388.47 feet, approximately two feet below the danger level.
