Lamrin Tech Skills University issues clarification on allegations, confirms completion of investigation against former top official

Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU), Punjab, held a press conference which was addressed by Nirmal Singh Rayat, Chancellor of the University, to share the latest updates regarding the internal investigation conducted against a former top official of university and to clarify misinformation being spread on social media platforms.
Rayat informed that a high-level internal committee was constituted to investigate the alleged financial irregularities and mismanagement that occurred during tenure of former official..
“The committee has completed its investigation and found direct financial losses amounting to approximately ₹13.44 crore, along with indirect losses of nearly ₹36.68 crore to the Lamrin Tech Skills University and Rayat Educational and Research Trust( RERT)”,he said.
He further revealed that the concerned official was given a fair opportunity to present his side and respond to the allegations before the committee; however, he did not appear in the investigations. Subsequently, LTSU has lodged a formal complaint with the Police Department for further legal action.
Clarifying regarding alleged False Propaganda
Rayat also drew attention to the malicious and misleading propaganda being spread on social media by an individual claiming to be a lawyer associated with the former head. He stated that the false and defamatory posts circulating online are aimed at creating confusion among students, parents, and stakeholders about the credibility and recognition of the LTSU.
“I want to clearly assure all students and parents that Lamrin Tech Skills University, Punjab, holds all mandatory approvals and recognition from the UGC and the Government of Punjab and all other statutory bodies . Anyone having doubts is encouraged to verify the facts directly from the official authorities,” he emphasized.
Clarifying regarding Industry Partnerships
Rayat categorically denied rumors suggesting that industry partners have withdrawn their association from the University.
“This information is completely baseless. All our industry partners remain committed to Lamrin Tech Skills University as per prior agreements. They continue to work with us for long-term academic and skill development collaborations,” he said.
Appeal to Students and Parents
The Chancellor further expressed concern over certain individuals attempting to instigate students and parents by spreading misinformation and encouraging campus unrest.
“Some people are deliberately trying to disturb the academic environment by motivating students to protest based on false narratives. We appeal to all students to reach out directly to the LTSU administration for any clarifications rather than relying on social media rumors,” Rayat stated.
He reiterated that the university management is taking appropriate legal action against individuals involved in spreading false information or attempting to disrupt peace on campus.
“We urge all students and parents not to fall prey to misleading propaganda and to continue focusing on education and career growth,” he added.
