Dr. Ratinder Kaur from Punjabi University Patiala brings laurels for the state

Dr. Ratinder Kaur, Faculty School of Management studies, Punjabi University, Patiala is the only academician nominated in Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) constituted by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India(ICMAI) for year 2025-2026.
Dr. Ratinder Kaur has an experience of teaching in the area of finance for last 26 years and she has been awarded as an “Outstanding Scholar Award’ the area of Accounting and Finance in year 2018.
The other members of the board are members of ICMAI or from industry. The Cost Accounting Standards Board develops Cost Accounting Standards for cost accounting guidelines for manufacturing and service industry.
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, recognizes the need for structured approach to the measurement of cost in manufacture or service sector and to provide guidance to the user organizations, government bodies, regulators, research agencies and academic institutions to achieve uniformity and consistency in classification, measurement and assignment of cost to product and services and has constituted Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) with the objective of formulating the Cost Accounting Standards.
Starting from 2001-02, CASB has developed 24 Cost Accounting Standards, Issued Generally Accepted Cost Accounting Principles (GACAP) and issued Guidance Notes on CAS-2 (Revised 2015), CAS-4, CAS-6, CAS-7, CAS-8, CAS-9, CAS-10, CAS-11 and CAS-12.
CASB Secretariat has also organised a number of programmes on Cost Accounting Standards for members and others throughout India. CASB also issues clarifications and opinions on the queries received from Regulators, Industry and other Stakeholders.
