State Level Red Run Marathon organized at Lamrin Tech Skills University

The State Level Red Run Marathon was organized by the Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab, in collaboration with Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab(LTSU) and supported by the Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS). The event aimed to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, physical fitness, and mental well-being, while encouraging the spirit of discipline, determination, and social responsibility among the youth. The marathon served as a symbol of youth unity and health consciousness, aligning with the national vision of creating a strong and aware generation.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Kulwinder Singh, Deputy Director, Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab; Rupinder Kaur, Assistant Director, Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab; Gurpreet Kaur, Assistant Director (Youth), Punjab State AIDS Control Society; and Manish Kumar, Assistant Director (IEC), Punjab State AIDS Control Society.

The marathon  covering a total distance of five kilometers. The route within the university campus was designed to inspire participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about social causes, particularly HIV/AIDS awareness, drug abuse prevention.

A total of fourteen participants (seven boys and seven girls) from seven different districts of Punjab took part in the marathon,

In the women’s category, Pooja from G.T.B. Khalsa College secured the first position (14:34), Veerpal Kaur from G.H.G. Khalsa College stood second (16:32), and Komalpreet Kaur from Khalsa College for Women achieved the third position (16:44). The consolation prize was awarded to Arshdeep Kaur from ACPE Mastuana Sahib (17:50). In men ’s category, Gagandeep from Khalsa College Amritsar bagged the first position (13:14), Sameer from Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana, came second (13:16), and Mohit from DAV College Hoshiarpur stood third (13:35), while Sukhvir Singh from Govt. Barjindra College Faridkot received the consolation prize (13:53).

The winners were felicitated with medals and cash prizes Gurpreet Kaur, Assistant Director (Youth), PSACS, encouraged the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and spread awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and youth empowerment. NS Rayat Chancellor, Dr AS Chawla Vice Chancellor and Prof. B.S. Satyal, Registrar, LTSU, also appreciated the collective efforts of the NSS Unit and highlighted the role of Lamrin Tech Skills University in fostering community service, leadership, and holistic education.

The event was smoothly managed under the guidance of Rattan Kaur, Coordinator NSS and Dr. Sohnu, Programme Coordinator, NSS unit LTSU Punjab.
