‘Kirtan Smagam’ to be organised across Rupnagar Distt to mark 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji – DC

Bahadurjeet Singh/ royalpatiala.in News/Rupnagar, October 28,2025                    To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a series of Kirtan programmes (Smagam) will be organised at various holy sites associated with Guru Sahib’s visit in Rupnagar district from November 1, 2025. Preparations for these programmes were reviewed during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar, Varjeet Walia, with senior district officials.

To mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a series of Kirtan programmes will be held at various holy sites associated with Guru Sahib’s visit in Rupnagar district from November 1, 2025 onwards.

While presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the Kirtan programmes (Smagam) will be held as follows:

  • November 1: Gurdwara Patshahi Nauvin, Dugri Kotli
  • November 2: Gurdwara Baba Gurditta Ji, Kiratpur Sahib
  • November 8: Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Rupnagar
  • November 9: Gurdwara Sri Bhora Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib
  • November 9: Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Bharatgarh

Deputy Commissioner stated that while the State Government has made elaborate and comprehensive arrangements to mark this significant occasion in a befitting manner, it is equally the responsibility of district officials to perform their duties with full devotion and dedication.

Varjeet Walia directed officers to ensure proper arrangements for parking, drinking water, langar, electricity, sound systems, toilets, and medical services at all venues. He emphasized that any negligence in arrangements will not be tolerated during these sacred events.

Among those present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Chandrajyoti Singh, Assistant Commissioner (IAS) Abhimanyu Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Pooja Syal Grewal, SP Arvind Meena, Assistant Commissioner (General) Arvinderpal Singh Somal, SDM Rupnagar Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Sri Chamkaur Sahib Amrik Singh Sidhu, SDM Sri Anandpur Sahib Jaspreet Singh, and other senior officers.
