The Punjab Government has ushered in a new era of rapid development and citizen-focused governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Reinforcing the state’s commitment to holistic progress, Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that 127 kilometres of major roads across the region will soon be widened and reconstructed to boost connectivity and economic growth.

Addressing the Crop Compensation Distribution Ceremony at Kang Palace, Dhahe Village Jindwari, Harjot Singh Bains said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann holds deep regard for the people of Punjab, especially the residents of Sri Anandpur Sahib. He noted that the constituency-long neglected for nearly seven decades- is now witnessing unprecedented development in road infrastructure, bridges, education, and health services.

He emphasized that the Punjab Government believes in delivering on its commitments with speed and transparency. Visible transformation is now taking place in every village of Sri Anandpur Sahib. Roads are being expanded, bridges are coming up, and public service systems are being strengthened to enhance the quality of life for citizens.

Focusing on farmers’ welfare, the Minister reiterated the government’s promise of providing timely compensation to those affected by crop loss. He assured that all eligible farmers in Rupnagar, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Nangal subdivisions will receive compensation without delay. He informed that 2 crore 26 lakh has been disbursed as crop compensation in the Sri Anandpur Sahib Assembly Constituency within the past 15 days. He added that 72,12,000 was disbursed in Subdivision Sri Anandpur Sahib, 58,89,000 in Subdivision Nangal, and 89,68,000 in Subdivision Rupnagar. He said the compensation was provided at a record pace, reflecting the government’s administrative efficiency and commitment to supporting farmers in distress.

During the function, compensation certificates Praman Pattars worth 10,16,000 from SDM Nangal and 18,00,000 from SDM Sri Anandpur Sahib were handed over to eligible farmers. The corresponding amounts will be transferred to their bank accounts via RTGS within 24 hours, ensuring full transparency. The Minister appreciated the district administration, revenue officials, and ground staff for completing the girdawari and verification processes swiftly and efficiently, enabling timely relief to the affected farmers.

Harjot Singh Bains further highlighted that the upgradation of 127 km of roads will significantly improve rural and urban connectivity, reduce travel time, and enhance safety. The improved road network will support agricultural movement, boost commercial activity, and improve access to schools, hospitals, and markets, contributing to a higher standard of living for the region’s residents.
