Punjab gets just 7 of 852 projects worth Rs 593 crore only from Rs 17 lakh crore DEA three years PPP plan

In pursuance of the implementation of the announcement in the Union Budget 2025-26, the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, has created a three-year Public Private Partnership (PPP) project pipeline.

The PPP project pipeline comprises 852 projects across Central Infrastructure Ministries and States/Union Territories with a combined total project cost of over Rs. 17 lakh crore.

Under State/ UTs project, out of 853 projects, Punjab gets 7 worth Rs 592.76 crore where as its neighboring Haryana gets 4 projects worth Rs 1328 crore, Himachal Pradesh gets 16 projects worth Rs 13682 crores and Jammu and Kashmir gets 57 projects worth Rs 21,374.31 crores. Andhra Pradesh gets the maximum  270 projects worth Rs 115,578.81 crores.

The pipeline provides early visibility of potential PPP projects to enable investors, developers and other stakeholders to undertake more informed planning and investment decisions.

Details of 7 Punjab Projects

Rs 7.35 crore is for Upgradation, Development, Operation & Maintenance, and Management of Darbar Hall & Gol Kothi, Kapurthala on PPP mode. (Renovation of historic building) under OMT. The project is sponsored by Punjab Infrastructure Development Board and Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs is the concerned department.

Rs 8.00 crore for Development of Rest Houses of Water Resources Department, Punjab – Khanna Canal Rest House, Banur Rest House , Kathu Nangal Rest House, Sidhwan Bet Rest House, Chamkaur Sahib Rest House, Ganda Kheri Rest House under OMT. The project is sponsored by Punjab Infrastructure Development Board and Department of Water Resources is the concerned department.

Rs 22.80 crore for Upgradation, Operation & Maintenance and Management of Sarai Lashkari Khan Fort, Khanna & Land at Village Treti, Shahapur Kandi, Pathankot under OMT. The project is sponsored by Punjab Infrastructure Development Board and Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs is the concerned department.

Rs 75 crore for Development of Convention Centre of Amritsar Development Authority and Greater Mohali Development Authority under DBFOT. The project is sponsored by Punjab Infrastructure Development Board and Dept. of Housing & Urban Development is the concerned department.

Rs 5 crore for Upgradation, Development, Operation & Maintenance and Management of Sangrur Kothi & Old PWD Head Quarters Building, Patiala on PPP mode. The project is sponsored by Punjab Infrastructure Development Board under Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs.

Rs 74.61 crore for Upgradation of Infrastructure in schools at Amritsar,Bathinda, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Sangrur, SAS Nagar, SBS Nagar, Tarn Taran on PPP Mode (School Education). The project is sponsored by Department of School Education under Department of School Education  Social & Commercial Infrastructure

Rs 400 crore for Development and Operation & Maintenance of Hotel, Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre at Hi-Tech Valley, Dhanansu, Ludhiana on Public Private Partnership (PPP) DBFOT Mode. The project is sponsored by  Punjab Infrastructure Development Board under Department of Industries & Commerce Investment Promotion.
