On the auspicious occasion of Maghi, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib

Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information & Public Relations, Punjab, today, on the auspicious and holy occasion of Maghi, paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and offered prayers at the feet of the Guru Sahib for the welfare of all humanity. On this occasion, while paying tribute to the great martyrdom of the Chalis Mukte, he said that the festival of Maghi holds immense significance in Sikh history.

Bains said that according to the Gurbani of the Guru Sahiban, with the beginning of the month of Magh, the glory of Naam multiplies manifold. Extending heartfelt greetings to all the congregations on Maghi and Makar Sankranti, he prayed that the Tenth Master, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, may continue to bestow His blessings upon the whole of Punjab, the country, and the world. Along with this, he also sought the blessings of Mata Naina Devi Ji.

The Cabinet Minister said that by the boundless grace of the Guru Sahib, whatever we are today is entirely due to the Guru’s blessings, and therefore we should always remain grateful. He said that on this holy occasion, prayers have also been offered for development and public welfare.

Bains informed that from today onwards, the pace of development in the constituency will be further accelerated. Long-pending demands in the villages such as sports grounds, libraries, nurseries, and community centres are being taken up at a rapid pace, and the process of widening the constituency’s roads to 18 feet has also been initiated.

He further stated that the entire area of the Municipal Council Sri Anandpur Sahib is being fully covered with CCTV cameras to make it the first such municipal council in the state, while development works are also underway in the Sri Kiratpur Sahib and Nangal Municipal Councils.

Speaking on education and employment, the Cabinet Minister said that under Mission Rozgar, at the beginning of the year, approximately 700 youth have been provided jobs, and in the coming days, recruitments for lecturers and the master cadre will also be carried out soon.

Praising the foreign visits of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Bains said that these have led to an increase in investment in Punjab, which will prove to be a milestone for the progress of the state and the country. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is exploring investment opportunities to strengthen the state’s economy. The growing interest of investors from within the country and abroad to invest in Punjab is a very positive sign. The development and prosperity of any state is a symbol of the progress of the nation. He said that the Bhagwant Mann government is continuously fulfilling its promise of providing employment, development, education, and healthcare facilities in the state.
