CASO conducted at various drug hot spots in Rupnagar district

Under the “Yudh Nasian Virudh” campaign,Cordon and Search Operation(CASO) was conducted by the police at drug hot spots of all police stations in district Rupnagar today. It was led by DIG Rupnagar Range Dr. Nanak Singh at Behrampur Colony.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Nanak Singh said that the Rupnagar Police has already started a special campaign and by conducting daily patrols, nakas and searches, bad elements are being arrested, while cases are being registered against those involved in the drug trade and recovery is being made.
Giving information about this CASO operation, Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Rupnagar Maninder Singh said that 12 SPs, 6 DSPs, 10 inspectors and about 140 police personnel were deployed in this operation.
He said that during this operation, 7 cases were registered under the NDPS Act, in which 8 persons were arrested and 34.05 grams of narcotic powder and 10 grams of heroin were recovered from them.
Maninder Singh said that no mischievous and bad element will be allowed to raise its head in the district. He said that law and order will be maintained in the district at all costs. The campaign started by the Rupnagar Police will be continued in the future as well.
