Workshop on Instructional Strategies for Social Science Teachers organized at GNDU

Department of Education, School of Education, under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National mission on Teachers and Teaching organized a workshop on Instructional Strategies for Social Science Teachers. The main objective of the workshop was to bring together teacher educators and school teachers to cover a range of topics that would help to shape many aspects of lives ranging from the education of the children, to ensuring democracy, to human relationships and how to cope with community issues.

At the Valedictory Session, Prof. Amit Kauts, Project co-coordinator welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the objective of the workshop that teachers should be committed to bringing about transformational change in their teaching to deal effectively with children of the digital world known as Tech-Natives. He also felicitated the participants on the successful completion of this workshop.

Vice Chancellor, Prof., Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the chief guest at the occasion, emphasized the importance of teachers in his own life. He shared his own experiences with the participants and encouraged the young teachers to present at the workshop to think beyond the box and find solutions to problems that we are facing as teachers.

Dr. Deepa Sikand Kauts, organizing secretary focused on the importance of social science as it is fundamental in understanding the nature of relationships among people, societies and environments in various times and places ranging from local to global perspectives. The workshop was attended by more than 30 participants from different states of the country. Participants gave their reflections on the workshop, they opined that such workshops should be conducted periodically for the benefit of students as well as teachers.

Prof. Adarsh Pal Vij proposed a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, project coordinator, organizing secretaries and encouraged the participants to play the role of good role models for the students and inspire them to become Nobel human beings in a culturally diverse democratic society.
