Nawanshahr DC reviews preparations for district-level Republic Day function

The district-level Republic Day celebrations will be held with pomp and enthusiasm. This information was given by Nawanshahr Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh while reviewing the preparations being made for the district-level Republic Day celebrations. Additional Deputy Commissioner (rural development)Avneet Kaur, SDM Nawanshahr Anamjyot Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (General )Jagdeep Singh and district officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to make proper arrangements for the district-level Republic Day celebrations.
He said that Punjab Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research and Elections Minister Dr. Balbir Singh will perform the ceremony of unfurling the national flag and will take salute from a grand march past.
He said that a patriotic cultural program will be presented by students of various schools and the national anthem will be sung by the students. He directed the officers to ensure that they carry out the assigned responsibility with dedication and honesty. He instructed the district officers of all the departments to ensure their and their staff’s presence in the district level Republic Day celebrations.
He said that no kind of negligence should be tolerated in this ceremony. He instructed the officers to complete the appropriate arrangements within the stipulated time.
