77th Republic Day: Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh Unfurled National Flag at Mansa

Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh unfurled the national flag at the multi-purpose sports stadium of Nehru Memorial Government College here today to mark the 77th Republic Day.
The Cabinet Minister inspected the parade, took the salute from contingents, and addressed the gathering, extending warm Republic Day greetings to residents of Mansa.
He paid tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and recalled the supreme sacrifices made by Punjabis in the freedom struggle.
Dr. Ravjot Singh highlighted the Mann government’s commitment to realising the dreams of the martyrs. He noted the renaming of Mohali International Airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh and the installation of the martyr’s statue there. The government has also doubled the ex-gratia grant for families of martyred soldiers from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore and is working for the welfare of serving personnel, veterans and martyrs’ kin.
Outlining key achievements, the Minister said the government has provided over 63,000 government jobs since April 2022, is upgrading 118 schools into Schools of Eminence, and has introduced free bus transport for government school students, benefiting more than 10,000 children.

He said that Punjab has become the first state to offer cashless health coverage of up to Rs. 10 lakh per family annually in government and empanelled private hospitals across Punjab and Chandigarh. Over 5 crore people have already availed free treatment at 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics, where 107 medicines and 47 diagnostic tests are provided free of cost.
The event featured colourful tableaux showcasing various government schemes and development works. School students presented vibrant Giddha, Bhangra, and patriotic choreographies.
Dr. Ravjot Singh distributed tricycles and sewing machines to needy persons and honoured individuals, parade contingents, and officials for exemplary performance.
Among those present were MLA Mansa Dr. Vijay Singla, DGP Jatinder Kumar Jain, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Kaur IAS, SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena IPS, District and Sessions Judge Manjinder Singh and several other dignitaries and officials.
