SGPC asks Gurdwara Management Committees to keep speaker Volume low

The apex Sikh religious body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) has issued a diktat to the Gurdwara Management Committees of all villages, cities and towns to keep the volume of speakers low, listenable within Gurdwara premises only.

While disclosing the orders issued by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) secretary Manjit Singh Bath has said that the voice of the speakers should be kept limited upto the premises of the Gurdwara Sahibs, so that the common masses residing in the vicinity shouldn’t face any disturbance.  He further said that “students, old aged and patients also have to go through difficulties due to excessive sounding of the speakers and often get affected due to loud volume of speakers.”

Bath further added that all Gurdwara Management Committees must adhere to the directions of supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib and ought to be followed in this concern.

Gagandeep Kaur a home maker welcomed the decision of the SGPC and said that the committee has taken a right decision, as the old aged face a lot of inconvenience  .Agam, a student said “the decision will give relief to all the students as in the wee hours the sound becomes loud and distract us while studying “. Tanvi another student requested the other religious bodies to follow the same and keep the volume of the speakers in other religious places as lower as possible.
