The celebration of Annual Day is crucial as it provides a platform for the students to showcase their talents and urges . The Annual Day is a perfect venue for children to instill positive values. recognize their abilities and talents, through an array of entertaining programmes. St. Xavier’s International School, Patiala celebrated its Annual Function ‘Jagriti,- A Step Towards  Better Society” on 21 and 22 November amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation.  The theme of the function was  “Social Evils” voicing the younger generation’s concern and awareness to  the social evils prevalent in the society like the woman status and terrorism etc.

The programme commenced with the traditional Lamp lighting  by the Chairman and the founder and the patron of the school B.S.Dhaliwal and Director Gurpreet Kaur Dhaliwal   also graced the occasion. It was followed by the Welcome Speech by Anvi and Prachita  of Class III-Tulips. The Principal, Manjeet Kaur Waraich formally welcomed the eminent guests and introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering and read the School’s Annual report of the past session. She also highlighted the growth and vision of  the school and thanked the Chairman and the Director for their constant support. Cheer and thrill filled the air as the school students came out with different and unique presentations on the   Annual Function. This thematic show of talent, imagination and organization was the essence of the evening. A glittering bonanza of skits, dances depicting carefree life, hidden desires, mime and street play were staged.

Annual Day celebrations at St. Xaviers Public School started with Shabad recital by the school choir. It was followed by Semi Classical dance performed by the budding dancers of Xaviers. The problem of Child labour was depicted very beautifully by the young students of VI –Tulips.How the modern generation has forgotten their moral values and neglect their old parents when they need them the most – this issue was raised by the Senior students of Class XI  through their play “Old  Age” which was really an  eye-opener for the  audience.   The other mesmerizing performances of the evening were Bomb blast by Class VIII , Holi by Class V and a mesmerizing performance  by Class VI  on Tollywood- a wonderful medley of Tamil songs. A very beautiful dance performance throwing light on Women Empowerment “Jhansi Ki Rani” was also appreciated very much. The ground reverberated with a thunderous round of applause at the foot tapping Bhangra by the Senior students. The function culminated with the National Anthem.  The two-hour long cultural show held the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated.
