PROMOTION: Punjab’s most decorated police officer among 3 gets promotion orders

Punjab government has promoted three DSPs namely Saravjit Singh, Guriqbal Singh, Bikramjit Singh Brar as superintendent of police (SPs) .
Bikramjit Singh Brar, PPS is a well known name in the Police circles. He has consistently demonstrated an exemplary level of professionalism, dedication, and integrity in the execution of duties. His father Late Baldev Singh Brar, PPS was also Superintendent of Police, Detective Patiala when he was martyred during terrorism in year 1988 at Patiala. His elder brother Varinder Singh Brar is also a PPS officer and presently serving as Senior Superintendent of Police, Vigilance, Ludhiana.
Bikramjit Singh Brar, PPS was recruited as Deputy Superintendent of Police in year 2018 for outstanding work done by him on anti-terrorists, anti-gangsters, and anti-drugs front.
During his posting as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Anti-Gangster Task Force, Operations Punjab, he has played an instrumental role in India and overseas operations which have led to neutralization and arrest of various dreaded gangsters, smugglers, terrorists, arms suppliers involved in organized crimes in Punjab and other states of the country. He has been awarded with prestigious President Police Medal for Gallantry for four times along with other awards.
First President Police Medal for Gallantry in year 2011 w.r.t. police action against dreaded gangsters of Rajiv Raja gang.
Second President Police Medal for Gallantry in year 2020 w.r.t. neutralization of three gangsters in Rajasthan including Vicky Gonder and Prema Lahoria.
Third President Police Medal for Gallantry in year 2021 w.r.t. bringing down dreaded gangster Ankit Bhadu and rescued hostages including two minor girls.
Fourth President Police Medal for Gallantry in year 2021 w.r.t. neutralizing two shooters Jagroop @ Rupa and Manu Kusa involved in the killing of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Fifth President Police Medal for Gallantry in year 2024 w.r.t neutralization of three notorious gangsters including Tejinder Singh @ Teja.
Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation in year 2021 w.r.t. deportation of dreaded gangster Sukhpreet Budha from Armenia.
Union Home Minister’s Special Operations Medal in year 2022 w.r.t. sharing actionable intelligence which led to neutralization of dreaded gangster Jaipal Bhullar and Jassi Kharar in West Bengal.
Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak in year 2023 w.r.t. arrest of Yuvraj Singh @ Jora from Hotel after exchange of fire and rescued the guests and staff members of the hotel.
For contribution in various operations w.r.t. busting cross border weapons and drug smuggling nexus which led to arrest of wanted terrorists/gangsters/criminals, he has been rewarded with Twenty-Seven (27) Director General of Police Commendation Discs.
