World University to start Diploma in Gatka and IAS, IPS, PCS Training

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib is starting training centre for the preparation of IAS, IPS, PCS and allied services. Dr. Pritpal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, said that this centre will prepare the aspirants for these competitive examinations. While sharing about the special feature of the centre, Dr. Singh said that this training centre will be unique in this region of Northern India in which needy students will be trained by the pedagogues and officers having specializations in various areas. He further added that the University department of physical education is starting a Diploma in Gatka to train the Sikh students in the Sikh Martial Art. The 10+2 pass students will be eligible to get admission in this course.

During previous days, Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, President, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University has made announcements regarding the same, during a meeting of Executive Committee of Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee.  It is pointed out here that these ventures will be specially supported by Sarbat Da Bhala Trust. The founder of the trust Dr. S.P.S. Oberoi visited the University to discuss about the modalities for commencement of the training centre and Diploma in Gatka, with the University authorities. Dr. Oberoi expressed his commitment and solidarity for the cause and desired that these new start ups will move ahead with excellent results. During the meeting, held at the V.C. office, Dr. RK Sharma, Dean Research and Dr. SS Billing, Head, Department of Mathematics were also present.
