IET Bhaddal Technical Campus celebrates National Science Day

IET Bhaddal Technical Campus celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences with the primary objective of promoting scientific temper, research aptitude, innovation and technical skills among students. The programme began with Dr. Taranjit Kaur, Dean – Research, who shared valuable insights about the significance of National Science Day.
She informed that in 1986, the Government of India declared 28th February as National Science Day in honour of Nobel Laureate physicist C. V. Raman for his remarkable contribution to the field of physics. On this occasion, several competitions based on contemporary scientific themes, including Atmanirbhar Bharat, were organized such as poster making, project exhibition, science quiz and debate. Students from various departments of the campus participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity and talent. The first position in the Poster Making Competition was secured by Jasdeep Kaur and Jashanjit Kaur, while the Project Exhibition was won by Ashish Jaswal and Badal Arnot. The Science Quiz competition was won by Yatin & Isha and Yatin also secured first position in the Debate Competition.

Dr. S.S. Bindra, Registrar-cum-Director of the campus, highlighted the theme of National Science Day 2026, “Women in Science: Catalyzing Viksit Bharat,” emphasizing that the theme encourages women to actively participate in the scientific field and recognizes their indispensable role in the nation’s development. Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Group Director – Academics, also shared his views and stated that the progress of a nation is not possible without science and technology. The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates, medals and trophies to the winners. Among those present on the occasion were Vishal Arora, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Yogita Sharma, Harminder Singh, and Tejinder Kaur.
