23rd General Body Meeting of All India State Bank of India Employees’ Federation was held today at Thapar University Auditorium, Patiala.
More than 700 delegates from all districts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other corners of the country participated. Joint General Body Meeting of State Unions of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh also met to transact the agenda in the joint delegate session. Com S K Gautam, Chairman, AISBIEF and Joint Secretary, AIBEA Inaugurated the Conference and Com Rajesh Bansal, Joint Treasurer, AIBEA was the Chief Guest and Com Naresh Gaur, General Secretary, All India SBI Emp. Federation was the Guest of Honour.
Com Jagdish Sharma, President AISBIEF presided over the meeting. Addressing the Conference Com S K Gautam told that after merger of Associate Banks in SBI as stated by the Government and SBI Management that SBI will be benefitted in case of Business and size the result is altogether adverse. Employees are reduced, branches are closed, business is declining, profit is declining drastically but NPA is on steep increase.
Employees of the erstwhile Associate Banks are deprived of Contributory Provident Fund which is known as third retiring benefit as available to SBI Employees. The retiring benefits will be less by 10 to 15 Lacs resulting in to gross discrimination. Com Rajesh Bansal, told while addressing that we are committed workforce and will work sincerely for the development of the Bank but certain authorities are getting us realised that we are from other Organization and discriminate in case of transfers and postings.
Com Naresh Gaur, General Secretary while addressing told that SBI Management has denied giving us our basic trade union of Check of Facility which is available throughout the banking industry irrespective of minority or majority union. He also told that this policy of repression of SBI Management will not be able to build of our struggle and to stop AIBEA to enter in SBI. Com Gaur also referred various issue of struggle such as compassionate appointments to the dependent of the deceased employees, overtime for working during demonetisation to employees of eSBP as paid to SBI Employees including various other Issues. Com Jagdish Sharma, President while addressing asked the employees to be prepared to take on bitter struggle to ensure justice and to end discrimination. Com Yadvinder Gupta anchored the meeting. Various resolutions were passed regarding issues of employees and certain constitutional amendments were also taken up. Thereafter, election of All India SBI Emp. Fed. and SBI Emp.
