AIIMS Bathinda enhances healthcare services with inauguration of PICU, ICTC, Digital X-Ray, Amrit Pharmacy and Mobile Cancer Van

In a significant step towards expanding healthcare infrastructure and community outreach, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bathinda inaugurated several important healthcare facilities under the leadership of the Hon’ble President Prof. (Dr.) Neerja Bhatla and Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta.

The dignitaries inaugurated the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), which will provide specialised critical care services for children and significantly improve paediatric healthcare facilities at the institute.

This was followed by the inauguration of the Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (ICTC) aimed at providing confidential HIV counselling, testing and awareness services for patients and the community.

A Digital X-Ray facility was also inaugurated to enhance diagnostic services and ensure faster and more efficient imaging support for patient care.

An Amrit Pharmacy was inaugurated to ensure the availability of quality medicines at affordable prices, making essential drugs more accessible to patients.

An HPV Vaccination Campaign was also launched to promote protection against cervical cancer among adolescent girls through preventive vaccination.

A Mobile Cancer Van was inaugurated and later flagged off in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda,  Rajesh Dhiman, to promote cancer awareness, screening and early detection, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

During the visit, the dignitaries also visited Rural Health Training Centre Sangat to review the healthcare services being provided to the surrounding community.

These initiatives mark another important milestone in the institute’s continued efforts to improve specialised medical care, preventive health services and accessibility to quality healthcare in the region.
