Water Conservation awareness fortnight to be observed in Government Schools-Singla

To sensitise the children about need of Water Conservation in wake growing paucity of water in many of the blocks of the State, the Education Department has decided to observe an awareness fortnight, informed Vijay Inder Singla, Education Minister Punjab.
The fortnight would be marked with various competitions to be held in all the Middle, Secondary and High Secondary Schools of the State. Essay competition on ‘Save Water’ theme would be held on August 1 while Painting Competition, Tree Plantation and Quiz Competitions would be organised on second, third and fifth of August. Subsequently, One Act Play, Slogan Writing, Group Discussions, Chart making, Objective Questions Rounds would be organised . A mini Marathon for different age groups on August 14 would mark the culmination of the programme.
Singla said that amidst the rampant water scarcity prevailing in many parts of the country, it is extremely important that the children whose life is to be most affected by the depleting water, be made aware of the importance of the precious natural resource and hold the baton to spread awareness in this connection .
