Punjab IPS Transfers: Once again Chief Director Vigilance Bureau changed, daring DIG gets marching orders

Punjab government has issued transfer orders of 6 IPS officers.

As per the orders, SS Chuhan has been appointed as new Chief Director Vigilance Bureau, Punjab. Presently He is sidelined and posted as MD, Punjab Police Housing Corporation.

In another dramatic change, Punjab’s daring police officer Gurmeet Singh Chuihan has been divested from his charge of DIG, AGTF.

ADGP Jails Arunpal Singh is also changed.

Earlier Varinder Kumar, IPS remained Chief Director Vigilance for a long period. After his removal no officers remained on this post for a suitable time. G. Nageshwar Rao (1995-batch IPS) took charge on February 18, 2025, replacing Varinder Kumar who was appointed in May 2022.

Later SPS Parmar, IPS replaces G. Nageshwar Rao, IPS . Later Parmar was suspended in April 2025 and PK Sinha was given the additional charge of Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, making him the fourth officer to hold the position in quick succession. PK Sinha was given full charges as Chief Director.

PK Sinha will be the new head of Punjab’s law and order. He will join the post after the retirement of incumbent Arpit Shukla.
