Punjab Govt mandates timely salary processing, issues instructions to DDOs

Punjab governmnent finance department has issued instructions to all HoDs to further instruct the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) working under them to timely process the salary bill of their employees. The state has moved towards strict financial discipline requiring salary processing within the first week of the month.
The Punjab Finance Department typically instructs Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to submit salary bills early, often by the 7th, to ensure prompt disbursement by the 1st of the succeeding month aiming to eliminate delays.
As per the orders, the move is to eliminate delays in salary payments and improve financial management and accountability.
