New Principal assumes charge at Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala

Prof. Sakinder Kaur formally assumed charge as Principal of Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala on Thursday, 08 May 2026 after her transfer from Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Govt College, Kapurthala. Earlier she remained posted at Govt College for Girls, Patiala before her elevation as Principal.
The faculty members and staff of the college warmly welcomed Prof. Sakinder Kaur on her joining and expressed confidence that the institution would continue to progress under her able leadership.
On the occasion, Prof. Sakinder Kaur interacted with the teaching and non-teaching staff and emphasized the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic development of students. She also expressed her commitment towards strengthening the academic environment and upholding the rich traditions of the institution.
Members of the staff extended their best wishes to the new Principal for a successful tenure at the college.
The others present were Retired Principal Prof (Dr ) Kusum Lata, Charnjit kaur and Pr .Balwinder Singh Waraich , Principal Govt College Malerkotla Pr .Anila Sultana, Pr Veerdev Singh, Pr .Harbans Singh, Pr Deepak,Pr .Sandeep Singh, Pr .Jagdish Kaur, Pr Sandeep kumar and all the teaching and non teaching members of the staff.
