Advocates impart life-saving training at Shalby Hospital Mohali

As many as 22 senior Advocates from District  Bar Association, Mohali  were imparted basic life support training at Shalby Hospital,Mohali today.

Among others, Manpreet Singh Chahal, president  of District Bar Association was also presented during occasion.The training was provided by Dr.  Narmada Maheshwari, MD IFCCM EDIC (London).

Dr. Namrata imparted training on the basic steps of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, commonly called CPR. She also taught how to use the Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and how to manage a victim of choking. All the teachings was imparted in an interactive manner with the participants viewing followed by hands-on session of the various steps of resuscitation on the adult and infant mannequins.

Dr.  Namrata said, “ The first hour of an emergency situation , called the golden hour is very critical in saving an individual. These basic CPR skills can help you save someone’s life. Participants learn basic skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other emergencies. AEDs positioned at strategic locations at the major airports in our country lately. AEDs are meant for delivering electric shock to a cardiac arrest victim in order to bring his or her heart rhythm back to normal and they can be used by bystanders, family and friends before medical help arrives.” she explained.
