CM honours 21 eminent personalities with state award, 9 with police medals

On the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh conferred state awards to 21 eminent personalities for their outstanding contribution in various fields besides bestowing Chief Minister’s Police Medal on nine police officers/officials in recognition to their distinguished services.

These awardees included social activists, artistes, litterateurs, poets, progressive farmers, environmentalists and government officials besides a cancer specialist, who have made outstanding contribution in their respective fields in the larger public interests.

The Chief Minister conferred Certificate and cash award to Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal of Moga district’s Duneke village, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Bishan Dass from Patiala, President of ‘Munde Ahmedgarh De Welfare Club’ Rakesh Kumar Garg, Amandeep Singh from Kanpur village in Pathankot, Tarsem Chand Semy of Mansa, Pandit Manu Seen from Jalandhar, Jinder Singh of village Sandhua in Ropar district, Harsh Kumar Harsh from Patiala, Abhishek Kumar Chauhan from Rajpura, Dr Vishal Goyal, Computer expert from Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjabi writer Gurmeet Singh Singhal, Dr Devinder Singh Sandhu, a cancer super specialist from Ludhiana, Rajesh Kumar Bhagat from Jalandahr, Baba Sewa Singh Ji of Khadoor Sahib, Sameer Sharda from Pathankot, Lalit Mohan Pathak from Nawan Shahr, Gunbir Singh from Amritsar and Veterinary Inspector Amandeep Singh from Patiala.

The other recipients of state award are Sita Rani Sarpanch of village Haripur in Jalandhar district, Harpreet Singh Dhillon from Fatehgarh Sahib and Kuldeep Singh from village Nayan Gaon in Mohali.

The Chief Minister also honoured nine police officers/officials, with the prestigious Chief Minister’s Police Medal in recognition to their excellent services, including Joint Director Vigilance Bureau Mohali Parmjit Singh Goraya, SSP Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range Diljinder Singh Dhillon, Assistant Inspector General Police, Election Cell Harbir Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Investigation, Patiala Harmit Singh Hundal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Election Cell Amroz Singh, DSP, Punjab Police Academy Phillaur Sewak Singh, SHO Police Station Dakha Inspector Jagdish Kumar, SHO Police Station Mullanpur, Mohali Inspector Bhagwant Singh and Inspector Karnail Singh posted in Jalandhar Rural.
