Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Premier League at Charan Ganga Stadium and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. On this occasion, he said that for the first time such a large-scale Premier League is being organized for the players and sports enthusiasts of the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, which will give a new dimension to the sports culture in the region. He informed that the matches will commence on April 27 in the presence of prominent sports personalities and will conclude with the finals on May 3.

The Cabinet Minister further informed that a unique feature of this league is that teams from every village, ward, and locality of the constituency will be able to participate. Villages with a population of more than one thousand will be allowed to field two teams, while in cities like Nangal, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Kiratpur Sahib, ward- and locality-based teams will be formed. Each team will be given the opportunity to choose its own unique name, which will further enhance enthusiasm and the spirit of competition among players.

He added that special facilities will also be provided to participating teams. Each team will be given jerseys, and every player will receive a certificate. In addition, teams will be provided with a cricket kit, including two bats, wickets, and a set of balls. This initiative is not limited to sports alone but is also a strong step towards keeping youth away from drugs and motivating them towards a healthy lifestyle. During the visit, the Minister also interacted with the youth and encouraged them to actively participate in sports.
