ICPMAS–2026 at MRSPTU: Strengthening Innovation in Precision Agriculture and Technology…

A two-day International Conference on Precision Mechanical and Agriculture Solutions (ICPMAS–2026) was successfully organized recently through the joint efforts of the School of Agriculture Sciences & Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda.

The conference brought together academicians, industry experts, researchers, and students to deliberate on emerging trends and innovations in mechanical and agricultural technologies.

The inaugural ceremony on the opening day was graced by eminent dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, keynote speakers, and members of the organizing committee. The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Pushpinder Singh Aulakh, Former Director of Horticulture-cum-State Mission Director, Government of Punjab, addressed the gathering. Other distinguished guests included Prof. (Dr.) Jiwan Singh Sidhu, Retired Professor from Kuwait University (USA); Rajeev Kumar Bhalla, Zonal Head, Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Division; Sukhpal Singh Bhullar, a nationally recognized progressive farmer and award-winning innovator; Er. Rupinder Singh Sekhon, General Manager, Verka Milk Plant;  Gurtej Singh Chaany, Managing Director, Chaany Group of Industries, Bathinda; and Prof. (Dr.) Sukhdeep Singh Dhaami, Head of Mechanical Engineering, NITTTR Chandigarh.

The conference was conducted under the patronage and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Pal Singh, Registrar, MRSPTU, and Prof. (Dr.) Sarabjeet Kaur Bath, Campus Director, GZSCCET-MRSPTU, Bathinda. The organizing team was led by Chairman Prof. Naveen Singla (Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Jasvir Singh Tiwana (Head, School of Agriculture Sciences & Engineering). The Organizing Secretaries, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Gupta and Dr. Kanwal Jit Singh, along with Co-Organizing Secretaries Dr. Wineet Chawla, Dr. Haramritpal Singh Sidhu, Dr. Gagandeep Singh Sodhi, Dr. Ruksana, Ramandeep Kaur Gill, and Ramandeep Kaur, ensured the smooth and successful execution of the event.

A total of four technical sessions were conducted over the two days, with two sessions held each day. The sessions were chaired by distinguished academicians: Prof. (Dr.) Amit Manocha (Director, PIT Moga) and Idris (Central University of Punjab) on the first day, followed by Dr. Barinderjit Singh Toor (Department of Food Science and Technology) and Dr. Navjot Kanwal (Department of Pharmacy) on the second day.

Participants from various reputed institutions presented their research through both online and offline modes. The conference witnessed active engagement and meaningful knowledge exchange across diverse themes in precision engineering and agricultural advancements.

Awards were presented to recognize outstanding contributions across sessions.

Session 1: Harleen Kaur (PAU Ludhiana) received the Best Oral Presentation award, Dr. Raj Kumar Pal (PAU Ludhiana) was awarded Best Paper, and Dr. Simarjit Kaur (MRSPTU) won Best Poster.

Session 2: Sonakshi Jaswal (PAU Ludhiana) secured Best Oral Presentation, Rashmi (PAU Ludhiana) won Best Paper, and Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur (MRSPTU) received Best Poster.

Session 3: Mr. Udit Jain (PAU Ludhiana) and Parikshit (NITTTR Chandigarh) jointly won Best Oral Presentation, while Harpreetpal Singh (PU Patiala) received the Best Paper award.

Session 4: Navjot Gaba (PU Patiala) was awarded Best Oral Presentation, and Vijay Kumar (MRSPTU) received the Best Paper award.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of MRSPTU, appreciated the efforts of both departments for successfully organizing the conference and emphasized the importance of such platforms in fostering innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.

The conference concluded on a high note, leaving participants enriched with new insights and strengthened professional connections.
