Haryana power engineers stage 2 hour work boycott

The power engineers of Haryana power utilities today staged a 2 hour work boycott across Haryana against the Nigam Management which has chosen to remain silent on the critical issues affecting the safety and morale of the Power Engineers.
Ravinder Ghanghas General Secretary,Haryana Power Engineers Association, Haryana Power Engineers Association in a letter to managing directors of utilities has reiterated cancellation of the arbitrary transfer of Jojo Taneja, SDO (Uchana), who is being victimized for performing his duty against power theft. , Immediate arrest of the accused in the Dadri incident involving threats to Gaurav SDO City Dadri., restructuring of posts of engineers as per work load norms, filling of vacant key posts, and Non-Filling of vacant Director posts in power utilities.
Ghanhas said that the association has declared a decisive struggle from today against the corporation management’s indifferent attitude and the harassment faced by field officers and demanded police protection for officials during power theft raids .
Baljit Beniwal Sr. Vice President said that the restructuring in HVPN has been pending since 2010 whereas the 171 power houses have been erected and the capacity has increased from 15000 to 72000 MVA whereas not a single post of engineer has been added. Engineers are very perturbed over the non -restructuring of utilities. It is imperative to create new posts and establish proper linkages in accordance with the newly constructed substations to ensure the smooth functioning of field operations.

The Association has stated that despite the peaceful protests ongoing for the last two weeks , the management remains silent on critical issues. The transfer of SDO Uchana Jojo Taneja who was victimized for cracking down on power theft must be revoked immediately. Additionally, the accused individuals who threatened SDO Gaurav in Dadri must be arrested without delay.
The vacant posts of Superintending Engineers (SE) in Hansi, Dadri, and Nuh must be filled without delay. The appointment of regular Directors be made instead of granting ad-hoc extensions.
Ravinder Ghanghas said that if the management does not abandon its obstinate stance, this agitation will escalate into a “complete work boycott,” for which the entire responsibility will rest with the management.
