AIIMS Bathinda successfully conducted Joint Prosthesis Distribution and Awareness Program

Under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, the Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) at AIIMS Bathinda successfully organized a Prosthesis Distribution and Awareness Program on April 21, 2026, in collaboration with the Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust Ludhiana.
Conducted under the theme “Hope & Mobility,” the program benefitted 10 patients with lower limb amputations, who were provided with high-quality prosthetic limbs and assistive devices. The initiative aimed to enhance functional independence, improve mobility, and support the social reintegration of individuals with physical disabilities. The program was executed smoothly and achieved its intended objectives.
Prof. Ratan Gupta emphasized that mobility is central to dignity and independence, encouraging beneficiaries to lead confident and fulfilling lives. Prof. Gupta reiterated that restoring mobility extends beyond medical intervention and contributes significantly to restoring dignity and livelihood. He also expressed sincere gratitude to the Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust for their valuable support and collaboration in the successful conduction of the program.

This successful initiative reaffirms AIIMS Bathinda’s commitment to community-centric healthcare and comprehensive rehabilitation services for persons in need.
