IAS officer facing corruption charges named new Home Secretary; 45 IAS, PCS officers transferred in Punjab

Punjab govt has issued transfer orders of 45 IAS-PCS officers. In the new list the state government has appointed Neelima, IAS as the new home secretary of the state.
On 2023, state vigilance bureau had booked Neelima, IAS along with others under Sections 13 (1) (a), 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 409, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of the IPC at the VB police station in Mohali, Punjab. She along with others were booked for transferring/bifurcation of an industrial plot to a realtor company and allowing it establish township by cutting plots. She was suspended.
After registration of the case, the IAS officers’ association launched a protest, which was curbed by the AAP leadership Later Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Maan had issued instructions to the chief secretary to immediately check the status as to whether requisite prior approvals has been taken or not while registering the case against the bureaucrat or not.
She later obtained bail and rejoined duty. She got posting on January 22,2024 and posted as Commissioner Agriculture.
In today’s orders, newly promoted PCS officer, Latif Ahmed, who has been inducted into the IAS following a ruling by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Chandigarh also gets posting orders. Ahmed had already retired on July 31, 2025, upon attaining the age of 58 years. He will now again join the service and work till next year.
Another IAS Manisha Rana is the new MD, PRTC. She replaces Bikramjit Singh Shergill. Shergill already holds the charge of MC Commissioner Amritsar along with MD, PRTC. Both are crucial postings and are at a distance of 250 km from each other
