AIIMS Bathinda organises National Surgical Oncology Conference

Under the visionary leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, the Department of Surgical Oncology at AIIMS Bathinda successfully organized the first national surgical oncology conference of AIIMS Bathinda “Onco Conclave 2026” on 9th -10th May 2026.
Dr. Nikhil Garg, Organising Chairperson from the Department of Surgical Oncology, AIIMS Bathinda, played a key role in successfully organising the conference. The conference witnessed participation from eminent experts across the country, including Dr. Subbiah Shanmugam, Senior Surgical Oncologist at SRM Institutes of Medical Sciences, Chennai; Dr. Abhishek Jain, Senior Consultant, Breast & Thoracic Cancer Surgery, at Marengo CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad; Dr. Vikas Warikoo, Professor and head of Surgical Oncology, at The Gujrat Cancer & Research Institute in Ahmedabad; Dr. Rushit Dave, Director, Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Airavat cancer care; Dr. Abhinav Mahajan, Surgical oncologist at Dr. Abhinav cancer care and gynae clinic.
The program featured insightful and engaging sessions by distinguished faculty, focusing on early identification of cancer, multidisciplinary management, and recent advances in care in oncology. Special emphasis was laid on timely intervention, and the need for a collaborative approach among healthcare providers.
The discussions aimed at enhancing the capacity of healthcare professionals in the field of oncology and ensure accurate diagnosis and management, thereby improving outcomes and quality of life for patients.
