The ‘Mera Patiala Main Hi Sawaran’ team, which has collected nearly 30,000 kilograms of plastic waste and garbage through its 74 cleanliness drives along city roadsides, has transformed a corner filled with garbage heaps and wild bushes near the temple on Jail Road in Environment Park into a beautiful Butterfly and Herbal Park, setting a new example for the city.

Mayor of Municipal Corporation Patiala, Kundan Gogia, today inaugurated the Butterfly and Herbal Park and dedicated the open gym installed there to the public. On the occasion, he appealed to residents to join the ‘Mera Patiala Main Hi Sawaran’ campaign and contribute towards making Patiala clean and beautiful.

Mayor Gogia appreciated the efforts of the warriors and said that the Municipal Corporation and district administration are committed to making Patiala, more clean, beautiful and pollution-free with the cooperation of citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, HPS Lamba said that this place was once a den of drug addicts, and now within the next six months, the Butterfly and Herbal Park would be developed into one of the most beautiful and attractive places in the city. He added that the ‘Mera Patiala Main Hi Sawaran’ campaign has not merely developed a park, but has initiated a new chapter of cleanliness and beautification in Patiala through public participation.

He said the initiative would not only create awareness among citizens regarding cleanliness and environmental conservation but would also strengthen civic participation.

Colonel (Retd) Karaminder Singh congratulated all warriors on the inauguration of the Butterfly and Herbal Park and said that countless hours of cleaning, painting, scraping, planning, beautification and dedicated teamwork had gone into bringing about this remarkable transformation.
