Haryana preparing to promote Electric Vehicles, to Purchase 500 Electric Buses, proposal sent for 100 percent tax exemption: Anil Vij

Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij said that a proposal has been sent to the government to provide 100 percent tax exemption on electric vehicles in Haryana on the lines of Chandigarh and Delhi, with the objective of encouraging people to purchase electric vehicles. He said if tax relief is provided on EVs, public inclination towards electric vehicles will increase rapidly.
Vij was responding to questions from media persons before the Cabinet meeting in Chandigarh on Monday.
He informed that the state government is going to purchase 500 electric buses. Besides this, a proposal has also been sent to the government to provide tax exemption on the purchase of electric vehicles. The proposal has been prepared on the lines of Chandigarh and Delhi to grant 100 percent tax exemption so that more and more people are encouraged to adopt electric vehicles.
He added that virtual meetings among departments are held regularly and many administrative matters are also resolved through telephone communication.
