Lodging complaints -chairperson issues personnel number as helpline

To speed up the grievance redressal system by easing the process of lodging complaints, the Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson Manisha Gulati has issued her personal mobile number as a helpline.

 

Giving this information, an official spokesperson of the commission said that it has came into the notice of the chairperson that women are facing difficulties in filing the complaints and lodging of written complaints are time consuming.  Keeping this in mind, she has decided to issue her personal mobile number 88659-00064 as helpline number. The spokesperson further said that now onwards, women can register their complaints directly with the Chairperson.

Punjab State Women Commission

The Punjab State Commission for Women has been constituted under THE PUNJAB STATE WOMEN COMMISSION’s ACT (Punjab Act No.4 of 2001) to provide for the constitution of the State Commission for Women with a view the Status of women in the State of Punjab and to inquire into unfair practices affecting women and for the matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Punjab State Women Commission is headed by Chairperson Manisha Gulati, Member Secretary an IAS officer and seven Non-official Members along with Director, Social Security and Women & Child Development Department, Punjab and Director General of Police, Punjab as Ex Officio Member of Punjab State Commission for Women.

The commission advise the Government on legislative and developmental policies affecting women;Undertake necessary steps at the Government and public level to protect constitutional and legal rights of women in general and poor among them in particular;Monitor the implementation of laws and welfare measures concerning women and initiate action for legal and administrative reforms to improve status of women along with other functions.
