MNSS Rai lifts IPSC Athletics trophy; PPS Nabha runners-up

The 56th All India IPSC (U-19) Athletics Championship for Boys & Girls-2019 came to a grand finale on the campus of The Punjab Public School on October 15, 2019 with an unprecedented 600 athletes from 29 prestigious public schools of the country taking part in the 3-day event showing exemplary sportsmanship. Major General TPS Waraich, VSM** (Retd), Director of Yadavindra Public School, SAS Nagar presided over the closing ceremony.

In Boys’ Section, Shri Hazur Baba Madhu Sudan Singh Bedi Inter-Public School Athletics Winners’ Challenge Trophy (Running) went to MNSS, Rai.Yadavindra Challenge Trophy (Running) for Runners-up for Boys in IPSC Athleticswent to PPS. The trophy for the Best Athlete (Boys) was bagged by Salim from MNSS, Rai.

In Girls’Section, the IPSC Athletics Challenge Winners’ Trophy (Girls)-2019 presented by PPS went to Motilal Nehru School of Sports (MNSS), Rai. The IPSC Athletics Challenge Runners-up Trophy (Girls)-2019 presented by PPS went to The Lovedale School, Ooty. The trophy for the Best Athlete (Girls) was shared between Rashi from MNSS, Rai and Rishita Kaur from MGD, Jaipur.

The 56th All India IPSC (U-19 Boys & Girls) March Past Trophy (Running) presented by PPS was shared between Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun and The Lawrence School, Ooty.

The boys’ team from Motilal Nehru School of Sports (MNSS), Rai were the overall winners. The team from The Punjab Public School, Nabha were a close behind lifting the 56thAll India IPSC (U-19) Overall Runners-up Trophy.

It may be recalled the meet was declared open on October 13, 2019 by Dr Sumer Singh, eminent educationist and Member, the School Board of Governors of The Punjab Public School.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Major General TPS Waraich, VSM** (Retd) complimented the headmaster, staff and students of PPS for having undertaken the mammoth exercise in such a hassle-free manner.  He declared the meet closed saying the school has raised the bar of popular expectations for the 57th IPSC Athletics Championship for the year 2020. Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, The Punjab Public School gave the chief guest a token of deeply felt love and gratitude.
