Dedicated Prostate clinic launched at Ojas Hospital

A dedicated prostate clinic was launched at Ojas Super Specialty Hospital, Panchkula. The clinic will be opened daily from 10am to 1pm except Sunday & national holidays.
Meanwhile Ojas has also announced prostate screening package which includes PSA test, ultrsonography of prostate and uroflowmetry at a very reasonable price.
Speaking during occasion, Dr. Abhay Gupta consultant of urology and kidney transplant and who will take care of clinic said that most of the male start suffering from prostate problems after crossing the age of 55-yr. The problems like frequent urge to urinate, increase frequency in night urination, urine retention with fevers & chills, blood in urine or semen, dribbling of urine, painful ejaculation and frequent pain or stiffness in lower back,hips, pelvic & rectal areas etc are symptom of enlarged or malfunctioned prostate and can be fully treated and controlled with medicines and surgical intervention if required, informed Dr Gupta .
In certain cases ignoring and non-treating the symptoms may result in prostate cancer, said Dr Gupta adding prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test should be done every year or as advice by urologist to check the severity of disease besides regular medicine and timely expert consultation.
