Sometimes a slightest thing can change the direction of life, and the same has happened in the life of Vinod Kumar, a labourer at a Rubber Factory in Jalandhar,  as he became a Lakhpati overnight winning the second prize of Rs 20 lakh in Punjab State Maa Lakshmi Diwali Pooja Bumper- 2019.

Vinod Kumar, hailed from Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, has been living in Jalandhar since 1989.

Father of three sons and a daughter, Vinod Kumar said that he could not believe his eyes as he matched his ticket number with the winning ticket number A-111864. He has submitted his claim for the prize money and the Punjab State Lotteries Department officials assured him that the payment would be made at the earliest.

Feeling extremely happy Vinod Kumar said he could not have imagined winning such a big amount in the wildest dreams, but this has been made possible by the Punjab State Diwali Bumper.

Expressing faith in the fair and transparent manner in which the state government had conducted the draw, Vinod Kumar said with the prize money he would be able to tide over the financial problems his family was facing.

Notably, the draw of the bumper was announced on November 1, 2019 at Ludhiana. The first two prizes of Rs. 2.50-2.50 crore had gone to Amandeep Singh, a dairy farm owner of Ludhiana and Sanjeev Kumar, a painter from Himachal Pradesh.
